Minister of Culture received by Nigerian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Abuja, July 1, 2013 (SPS) - Minister of Culture Ms. Khadija Hamdi received Sunday by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ms. Viola Onwuliri, on the sidelines of the Second High-Level Meeting of the GlobalPOWEr Women Network Africa.


The meeting was an opportunity for both ministers to assess the bilateral relations already exists between the two countries on the basis of fraternity and solidarity, as to review the fruitful results of the Second High-Level Meeting of GlobalPOWEr Women Network Africa, where Ms. Onwuliri was elected as a president of the current session 2013-2015.


Reaffirmed her country’s firm position in supporting the right of Saharawi people to self-determination and freedom, the Nigerian Minister hailed the presence of Saharawi women at the meeting, given that Saharawi woman are waging a liberation battle and at the same time a battle to promote woman and pushing her to play a core role, as an engine for human and economic development in Africa.


From her part, Saharawi Minister congratulated Nigeria for the outstanding success of this high level meeting, and in particular to Ms. Onwuliri on the occasion of her election as a president of the current session.


She also affirmed desire of SADR government to deepen and consolidate the good bilateral relations already exist between the two countries.


The meeting also attended by Ms. Fatma Al-Maehdi, Secretary General of the Saharawi Women Union, Ms. Sukeina Larabas, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Abbi Bachraya Bachir, SADR Ambassador in Nigeria, and Mr. Wadad Mustapha, who is in charge of a mission in SADR embassy in Abuja.
