South Africa and SADR signs three Memorandums of Understanding

Pretoria, June 28, 2013 (SPS) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) Mr. Mohame Salem Ould Salek and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Ms. Maite Nkoana-Mashabane have signed three important Memorandums of Understanding.


The first one is about cooperation between the two countries, the second about youth as well as sports, and the third about demining.


The signing of these agreements is a strong indicator to the development of relations between the two countries, which share strong historical ties wove its roots in the midst of the struggle against colonialism and apartheid.


These agreements were signed after the bilateral talks between the foreign ministers of the countries.


This meeting was an opportunity for South African Foreign Minister to reaffirm her country’s principled position of support to the struggle of Saharawi people for freedom and sovereignty.


It should be noted that the South African minister had organized a luncheon in honor of the Saharawi minister and the delegation accompanying him, in the presence of senior officials of the South African Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (SPS)
