President of Republic felicitates his Mozambican counterpart on Independence Day

Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), June 3, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz felicitated Monday his Mozambican counterpart Mr. Armando Emílio Guebuza, on the occasion of his country’s celebration of the 38th anniversary of Independence.


“On behalf of the people and Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and in my own name, I am pleased to extend to Your Excellency and through you to the people and Government of the Republic of Mozambique my most cordial congratulations on the occasion of 38th Anniversary of the independence of your country,” writes President Mohamed Abdelaziz.


The SADR President took this opportunity to express deepest gratitude and sincere thanks to Mozambique for its attachment to international law, which is translated in its continued support to the right to freedom and independence of the Saharawi people.


“At the same time, allow me Mr. President and dear brother to reiterate our desire to strengthen the deep ties of friendship, brotherhood and solidarity between the Sahrawi and Mozambican peoples and Governments in their common struggle against all forms of oppression and injustice,” the letter stated.


The Republic of Mozambique became independent from Portugal on June 25, 1975. It has been recognizing the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic since March 13th, 1976. (SPS)
