Algiers, June 15, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Justice and Proclamation Party of Algeria (French acronym: PEP) Ms. Naïma Salhi has reaffirmed her party’s support to the struggle of Saharawi people, denouncing the repression policy perpetuated by Moroccan authorities against the Saharawis, in a meeting on Wednesday with the Saharawi Ambassador in Algeria Mr. Brahim Ghali.
“We will continue to support the Saharawi people to achieve their objectives to self-determination. We also denounce the policy of oppression, starvation and media blockage experienced by Moroccan occupation regime against the Saharawi people,” said Ms. Naïma Salhi, President of the Justice and Proclamation Party of Algeria.
From his part, the Saharawi Ambassador Mr. Brahim Ghali highligted the suffering of the Saharawi people in the occupied Western Sahara, including the repressive policies carried out by Moroccan occupation authorities against the unarmed Saharawi citizens.
Mr. Ghali informed his interlocutor about the latest developments on the question of Western Sahara, highlighting the achievements have been obtained by the Saharawi cause on various levels over forty years of struggle.
The meeting is part of a set of meetings and contacts conducted by the Ambassador Brahim Ghali with Algerian political formations and civil society representatives, in the context of the bilateral relations and joint solidarity action between the two countries. (SPS)
