Festivities kicked off in Saharawi refugee camps to mark Martyr Day

Auserd (Saharawi refugee camps), June 9, 2013 (SPS) - Several festivities kicked off Sunday in the Wilaya of Auserd, Saharawi refugee camps, to mark the closing ceremony of 2013 school year and the Martyr Day, in the presence of the Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, members of the government and foreign guests.


In his opening speech, the Wali (Governor) of Auserd Mr. Salek Baba Hasana stressed the importance of the event for the Saharawi people, especially as it coincides with the 40th anniversary of the creation of Polisario Front.


The opening ceremony marked by folkloric and professional festivities, as well as some presentations by school children.


The two-day celebration will be marked by the organization of Martyr El-Oulai’s Fifth Intellectual Forum, according to the agenda. (SPS)
