Zimbabwe reiterates its permanent support to the struggle of the Saharawi people (Official)

Harare (Zimbabwe) May 28, 2013 (SPS) -The Director General for External Relations of the Parliament of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Mr. Qodfrey Sheparay, reiterated Today the permanent position of his country in support for the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, during his meeting with Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic to Zimbabwe Mr. Aldaich Mohammed Saleh, according to a press release issued by the Sahrawi embassy in Harare

 

"The principal position of the Republic of Zimbabwe is clear in its support for the struggle of the Sahrawi Republic until the full liberalization of its zones. Africa, which is commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of AU, must evaluate the efforts made for this lasting cause. Africa has to take quick steps to decolonize, in a final way, this African country" Zimbabwean parliamentary official says

 

He added that his country " will plead for the just cause of the Saharawi people wherever it is possible, both at the continental and global levels"

 

On his part, the ambassador of Western Sahara briefedhis host on the developments of the national cause, especially with regard to the situation of stalemate that the decolonization process of the Sahrawi Republic, because of the lack of political will on the part of the Kingdom of Morocco which is supposed to make way for the self-determination of the Saharawi people.

He also briefed him on the serious situation in the occupied territory, where the Sahrawi citizens are subjected to the worst kinds of oppression, intimidation and unfair trials by the Moroccan authorities, in the absence of international protection to ensure respect for their will in free expression and the enjoyment of all their basic rights.(SPS)
