ALGIERS May 23, 2013 (SPS)- The General Union of Tunisian Students (UGET) underlined Wednesday in Algiers, along with the Algerian student movement, their support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination.

“We are present today in Algeria as part of the festivities marking the National Students’ Day (May 19) to voice our full support and solidarity with the struggle of the Sahrawi people for their right to self-determination,” said Khadidja Souissi, an UGET’s member.

UGET expressed their “readiness” to join their efforts with those of the Algerian friends to “make known the noble cause for which the Sahrawi people are struggling” and to help them “to recover their liberty.”

“The Algerian student movement is increasingly mobilized and will work with their Tunisian friends and with all the student movements in the world for the interest of the peoples of the Maghreb region and particularly that of Western Sahara, the last colony of Africa,” said Vice President of the General Union of the Algerian Students Samir Daoudi.(SPS)
