Heavy security deployment to occupied El Aaiun’s airport coinciding with arrival of international press delegation

El Aaiun (occupied territories), May 4, 2013 (SPS) - The airport of occupied El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, witnessed last night a heavy deployment of various Moroccan security apparatus, including police, gendarmerie and auxiliary forces, before the arrival in the city of a delegations representing well-known international media, informed Saharawi sources.


These unprecedented security enhancements, said the same source, comes before the arrival of a group of international journalists.


According to the source, the delegation aims to prepare a detailed report on the situation in the region in the light of the continued demonstrations that call for self-determination and freedom, especially after the recent UN Security Council resolution.


The delegation includes journalists from New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, CNN, Guardian, Sky News, Foreign Policy, Boston Globe and Herald Tribune. (SPS)
