Student and youth organizations denounce human rights situation in Western Sahara

Johannesburg, April 8, 2013 (SPS) - Several foreign student and youth organizations, present at a partnership seminar organized in Johannesburg by Danish NGO Afrika Kontakt, have denounced the serious violations of human rights daily perpetuated by Moroccan repression forces in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, informed a source in Saharawi Students Union.


The organizations, which came from Swaziland, Uganda, South Africa and Zimbabwe, expressed “total” solidarity with the Saharawi people and his just cause, urging international community to speedily intervene to free all Saharawi political prisoners inside Moroccan jails.


They also expressed intention to organize a solidarity visit to the Saharawi Refugee Camps, in partnership with Saharawi Students Union (UESARIO).


It should be recalled that the partnership seminar, organized by the Danish Non-Governmental-Organization Afrika Kontakt, bring together delegates representing youth, women and trade unions from Uganda, South Africa, Swaziland, Denmark and Zimbabwe, in addition to the Saharawi Students Union.


The seminar discusses the ways to strengthen cooperation and solidarity between the Danish NGO and its partners across Africa. (SPS)
