Algerian Justice Minister renews Algeria’s supporting position to Saharawi people’s self-determination

Algiers, April 3, 2013 (SPS) - Algerian Minister of Justice Dr. Mohamed CHARFI has reiterated Algeria’s position of support to the right of Saharawi people to self-determination and establishing an independent state in line with international legitimacy resolutions, when he received on Tuesday at headquarters of the Algerian Justice Ministry Mr. Bah Dih Chikh Mohamed, Saharawi Minister of Justice.


Algerian minister renewed readiness to cooperate with Saharawi ministry of justice in the different areas related to the field of judiciary.


From his part, Saharawi minister informed his interlocutor about the suffering the Saharawis face at the hands of Moroccan occupation authorities, including the recent show trial and unfair trial against 25 Saharawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik.


He also gave a detailed presentation on the development of the judiciary system in the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and its future prospects, highlighting in this respect the importance of benefiting from the long Algerian experience and expertise in this sector.


The meeting was attended also by Mr. Brahim Ghali, SADR ambassador in Algeria, Mr. Brahim Balla, Prosecutor of Saharawi Republic and Mr. Mohamed Mbarek, President of Saharawi Supreme Court, in addition to some cadres and members of the staff of Algeria’s Justice Ministry. (SPS)
