Shahid  AlHafed (Sahrawi refugee camp), March 26, 2013 (SPS) the Saharawi Coordinator with the MINURSO  Mr. Mohamed Khaddad called on  Monday, the Personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara Mr. Christopher Ross to give the Security Council a true picture of the situation of the Sahrawi people.

In a statement to the press at the end of his meeting with the UN envoy, Mr. Khaddad said that the visit of Mr. Ross to the region "occurs when the negotiation process is stopped for a year and when serious violations of human rights committed by Morocco, which prevents international observers to visit the Western Sahara.”

Khaddad urged Ross to "give the Security Council a true picture about the repression which   committed against   the Saharawi people in the occupied territories to take the necessary mechanisms to protect the Saharawi people."

"Morocco does not respect human rights," stated Mr. Khaddad, adding that "the time has come for the UN to assume its responsibilities in this case” he said, welcoming the arrival of Mr. Ross and expressing the readiness of the Polisario Front to cooperate fully with him. (SPS)
