"We will continue the peaceful struggle to regain our independence and, if necessary, we will resume the armed struggle to confront the Moroccan occupation in our territories," said President Mohamed Abdelaziz, while he was receiving at the Presidency, Algerian student resident in France.
A delegation of young Algerians in France had begun Thursday evening a three-day visit to the Saharawi refugee camps, in the framework of the "caravan of independence."
He stressed, in this regard, that Algeria had struggled with "dignity and courage" for independence against the French occupation, considering that for Western Sahara as “an example to follow" to get independence.
He considered Morocco as “out of law” and commits oppression against the Saharawi peoplein addition to violate all the resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union (AU).
He pointed out, moreover, that the conviction against 25 Saharawi political prisoners by the military court in Rabat on 17 February sentences ranging from 20 to life sentences, showed once again "the true face of Morocco."
"Morocco does not respect the rights of the Saharawi people to self-determination Moreover, it violates all international resolutions, including those of the UN, which require the organization of a referendum on self-determination of the Saharawi people, "he added.
He said, in this sense, that the Saharawi people and the international community put pressure "more intense" on Morocco to respect human rights in the occupied Saharawi territories.
Referring to the construction of the Maghreb unity, Abdelaziz claimed that Morocco was "the principal obstacle" to building the Arab Maghreb unity, because of its "illegal occupation” of Western Sahara.(SPS)
