Budapest, Feb 23, 2013 (SPS) - The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) strongly condemned the sentences issued against the Saharawis arrested after the eviction of Gdeim Izik Camp, considering it a “farcical trial”, not only against the group, but against an entire people struggling for their freedom and independence.

“From WFDY we want to show our strong condemn to the sentences issued against the Saharawi fighters, demanding their immediate release,” reads a statement issued Friday a copy of it reached SPS.

The statement said that this new aggression of Morocco constitutes “a new turn” of the screw in the occupation policy of the Moroccan kingdom, which is characterized by the increasing of the repression against the constant increase in the willingness of struggle of the Saharawi people in the occupied areas.

It, therefore, highlighted the willingness of the Saharawi people’s struggle after 37 years of occupation, whose maximum exponents are the 24 militants convicted on this occasion, reaffirming strong solidarity with the Saharawi people in their struggle for freedom, sovereignty and independence of Western Sahara.

“We reaffirm our support to the Polisario Front and the UJSARIO as sole representatives of the Saharawi people, as well to the human rights organizations that heroically works, day-to-day in the Occupied Territories,” underlined the statement. (SPS)
