International Socialist reiterates its full support to right of Saharawi people to self-determination

 Cascais (Portugal) Feb06, 2013(SPS) the Council of the International Socialist reiterated its full Support to the Saharawi People’s right to self-determination, in the end of its meeting held from 4 and 5 February in Cascais,Purtugal.
 

 The Council demanded the urgent implementation of all resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union that guaranteeing this right considering Western Sahara Issue as “a case of decolonization”
 

 It calls for the urgent resumption of direct negotiations between Morocco and Polisario Front under the auspices of the UN, expressing “full support the efforts undertaken by the UN Secretary General to achieve a just, peaceful and lasting solution to this long conflict.”
 

 

the IS also  expresses  their concern on the degrading situation on human rights in occupied Western Sahara  , demanding for  “the opening of the territory to independent observers ,NGOS and the media.”
 

The Council of IS   agreed to send a mission to Western Sahara “in the spirit of the proposal of the SI Mediterranean Committee.”
 

The Council recalled the Declaration of the XXIV Congress in Cape Town on Western Sahara, further recalling the resolutions and statements of the Socialist International on Western Sahara and “in particular the one adopted at the Athens Council”
 

A Saharawi delegation lead by Member of National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Minister for the Europe, Mohamed Sidati in addition to the Polisario representative to Portugal, Ahmed Fal Mohamed Yehdih, has participated in this Council of International Socialist.
 

it should be recalled that the Polisario Front is an observer member  of the International Socialist and invited for all its congresses and activities  (SPS)
