Khaddad holds several meetings with Norwegian officials

Oslo, Feb 4, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Coordinator with the MINURSO Mr. Mhamed Khaddad held Thursday and Friday several meetings with Norwegian Foreign Ministry officials and representative of political parties, a part of a working tour to northern Europe.


Mr. Khaddad received at Norwegian Foreign Ministry headquarters by the Foreign Minister’s Political Advisor Ms. Katherine Radim, and met with representative of the leading political parties, trade unions, youth organizations and parliamentarians in Norway.


The talks focused on the latest developments of Saharawi cause and the need for the international community to assume responsibility in moving forward the peace plan in Western Sahara, in a way that ensures a just and durable solution enable the Saharawi people to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and independence.


The Saharawi official spoke about the systematic violations of human rights committed by Moroccan state in the occupied part of Western Sahara, recently of which its attempt to bring Gdeim Izik detainees to a military trial.


He, therefore, appealed to the international community to take concrete and immediate steps to protect the Saharawis from the oppression of Moroccan occupier and to halt the plundering of Western Sahara resources by Morocco.


Mr. Khaddad was accompanied, on his tour to northern European countries, by the POLISARIO Representative to Norway Dr. Limam Al-Khalil. (SPS)
