Security Council to hold consultations session on Western Sahara current November 28th

New York, Nov 5, 2012 (SPS) - The UN Security Council will held a session of consultations on the question of Western Sahara on the current November 28th, where the UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy Mr. Christopher Ross will brief the Council regarding Western Sahara issue, according to the Council’s website.


The Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the current month, Mr. Hardeep Singh, said that November agenda will be among the “most congested”, where lots of hot issues in the world will be addressed.


To indicate, UN Security Council asked, in its resolution 2044 issued on 24 April 2012, the Secretary General to regularly brief, at least twice a years, the Council on the status of the negotiations being held under his auspices, the progress achieved in it, challenges faced by the MINURSO mission and the steps taken to address these challenges.
