Christopher Ross arrives in Saharawi refugee camps

Chahid Al hafed (refugee camps), Nov 3, 2012 (SPS) - The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, Mr. Christopher Ross, arrived Saturday in the Saharawi refugee camps, where he received by the Saharawi Coordinator with the MINURSO Mr. Mhamed Khaddad.


After his arrival, the UN Envoy held working session with the Secretary of State in charge of Documentation and Security Mr. Brahim Mohamed Mahmud.


According to agenda of the visit, the UN Personal Envoy will hold several talks with the Presidents of the Constitutional council and Supreme Judiciary Council, members of the National Council (Parliament), in addition to the Secretary General of the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO) and Students Union (UESARIO).


He will also pay visit to the Association of Families of the Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA), as well as the National Museum of Resistance.


Ross will also meet tomorrow, Sunday, in the Wilaya of Boujdour some Saharawi women leaders including the Secretary General of Woman Union, before holding talks in the evening with the Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar and Interior Minister Mr. Hamada Salma.


On the third day of his visit, the UN Envoy will hold talks with the Minister of Education as well as the Minister of Vocational Training and Public Employment, before heading to the Wilaya of Smara where he will meet its Governor and some Saharawi personalities.


Mr. Ross will conclude his visit Monday evening by meeting the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz. (SPS)
