Rabat (Morocco) Ocrober30, 2012(SPS)- United Nations Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Christopher Ross, on a visit to Morocco since Saturday as part of a trip to North Africa and Europe, said Monday in Rabat that his visit was a continuation of the mission UN chief entrusted to him.
"My visit is a continuation of the mission entrusted to me by the Secretary General of the United Nations three years ago," Ross said following the audience granted to him by King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
He said he had come to the region to "examine the last five years of direct talks, gather ideas on the best ways to make real progress in the negotiation process, and examine the impact of the last developments in Western Sahara issue."
Ross announced that back in New York he would send his findings to the United Nations Secretary General and was to submit his report to the Security Council "by late November." (SPS)
