Delegation from European Left Party visits Sahrawi refugee camps

Al Aiun (refygee camps), Oct 28, 2012 (SPS) - Delegation representing the European Left Party (ELP) has started yesterday solidarity visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps.

 

The delegation led by Vice President  of the European Left Party, Maite Mola, paid visit to the refugee camp of Layune where it has received by the Saharawi masses.

 

It also held meetings with Secretary General of Sahrawi Youth Union (UJSARIO), Musa Salma, as well as Labada Kaziza, in charge of International Affairs in UGTSARIO (trade union).

 

In this contex, t head of ELP delegation expressed admiration to the steadfastness of the Sahrawi people praising their commitment to the non violence struggle as the only way to recover their legitimate rights.

 

Maite Mola has deplored the shameful position of the European Union towards the Sahrawi issue, underlining that the EU supports Moroccan colonial policy in Western Sahara through signing economic agreement with the Rabat regime that includes the Occupied Western Sahara.

 

Mola who is also in charge of the International Affairs of the Communist Party of Spain has called Spanish Governments as “traitor” of the Sahrawi people praising the firm position of the Spanish civil society in supporting their legitimate right to freedom and independence.

 

The ELP Delegation consists of representatives of Syriza (Greece), French Communist Party, Die Linke (Germany) and Red Green Alliance (Denmark).

 

These representatives of European Left Parties will also visit Saharawi institutions the Moroccan military wall that separates Western Sahara. (SPS)
