Paris, Oct 21, 2012 (SPS)- Nearly one hundred people, including members of human rights groups, trade unions and political parties, held a rally Saturday in Paris demanding actions from the French government, the European Union and the United Nations for an immediate and unconditional release of Saharawi political prisoners.

"Stop suppression in Western Sahara," "Release all political prisoners," "No to Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara " and "Respect for international law, referendum for Sahrawi people’s self-determination" were written on the banners carried by the demonstrators, gathered on the human rights square at the Trocadero, Paris.

The rally, joined by representatives of French left-wing political parties (PCF, NPA) and EE Greens, was held on the eve of a trial of 23 Saharawi prisoners in Sale, near Rabat (Morocco), by a military court (October 24). (SPS)
