Saharawi pilgrims batch heads to Holy sites to perform Hajj rituals

Boujdour (refugee camps), Oct 9, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, oversaw Monday night the farewell of a Saharawi batch of pilgrims, who will head Tuesday to the Holy sites to perform Hajj rituals.


Speaking at the farewell ceremony, the President called on the Saharawi pilgrims to “cooperate in order to complete this holy pillar”, urging them to possess the sense of discipline and responsibility as to convey message of the Muslim Saharawi people who struggle for the right to self-determination and freedom to Islamic peoples.


Some supplies and special needs were distributed to the Pilgrims to provide all the good conditions for them to perform the holy Hajj.


This year batch composed of 58 pilgrims, including 20 women, of whom also members of the leadership of the Polisario Front and Saharawi government.


This is the fifth batch to benefit from hajj in the holy sites.


The pilgrims will fly tomorrow down, Tuesday, to the Algerian city of Oran before heading to Madina Munawara, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. (SPS)
