National Tent Day: Saharawi students in Marrakech University organize peaceful sit-in

Marrakech (Morocco), Oct 9, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi students in Moroccan University of Marrakech organized yesterday, Monday, a peaceful vigil commemorating the National Day of Saharawi Khayma (Tent), observes October 10th of each year, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.


The vigil comes as a commemoration of the 2nd anniversary of the installation of fist tent in Gdeim Izik protest camp, east of occupied El Aaiun, as a new method of peaceful resistance and protest against the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.


The Saharawi students chanted a number of slogans glorifying the blessed Intifada of Independence (uprising) in the occupied Saharawi territories.


They also expressed determination to continue the struggle until achieving the national desirable goal, which is the total independence of Saharawi Republic.


The Sahrawi Council of Ministers declared last year October 10th each year as a National Day of Saharawi Khayma (tent).
