Saharawi delegation participates at 10th Congress of FRELIMO

Pemba (Mozambique), Oct 1, 2012 (SPS) - A delegation of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic had participated at the 10th congress of the Liberation Front of Mozambique “FRELIMO”, took place from September 23 to 28 under the slogan “fight together against poverty, according to a source close to the delegation.


Delegations from twenty countries took part in this event, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Frelimo, the source added.


Speaking on the occasion, delegations of Algeria and Zimbabwe reaffirmed the support of their country to the just cause of the Saharawi people.


Saharawi delegation composed of the Minister of Cooperation, Mr. Brahim Mokhtar, former Ambassador to Mozambique, Mr. Mohamed Brahim Zenan.


Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) was formed in 1962 in neighboring Tanzania as apolitical and military movement to overthrow Portuguese colonial rule. Then, it formed the governing party of newly independent Mozambique in 1975. (SPS)
