Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), Sept 23, 2012 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, expressed Sunday warm and sincere congratulation, on behalf of government and people of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, to Mr. Ato Hailemariam Desalegn, who swore in Friday as the new Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
In a letter a copy of it reached SPS, the President of the Republic expressed his “sincere congratulations and best wishes” to the new Ethiopian PM, hoping that Ethiopia, under his leadership, will continue its steady march towards the attainment of more development, progress and prosperity.
He therefore recalled to the “longstanding relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation” already existing between the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic and Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, reiterating resolve “to boost these relations to the highest possible level in the interests of our two brotherly peoples and countries and those of our continent.”

Excellency and Dear Brother,
On the occasion of your swearing in as Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, I would like to address this letter, on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, to extend to you our most sincere congratulations and best wishes of success in discharging your new mission. I would also like to congratulate you warmly on your election as Chairperson of the Ethiopian Peoples' Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).
Your taking office comes at a time when the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, has made significant achievements in many domains, and has become one of three fastest economies in the world. We are confident that your brotherly country, under your wise leadership, will continue its steady march towards the attainment of more development, progress and prosperity.
The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic are bound by longstanding relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation, and I would like to renew our resolve to boost these relations to the highest possible level in the interests of our two brotherly peoples and countries and those of our continent.
