Summer University of Students Cadres opens

Semi-Medical Centre (refugee camps), August 25, 2012 (SPS) - Work of the second edition of the Summer University of Students Cadres opened Saturday by the Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar under the banner: “the Saharawi student; a student of knowledge and ambassador of a cause”, in the presence of a number of National Secretariat and Government members, as well as youth and students cadres.


In his opening speech, the Prime Minister spoke about the developments of the Saharawi question, highlighting the bets the Saharawi people must face especially drugs and terrorism fueled by Morocco, since it is a prominent exporter of such scourge according to international reports, recently was the report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime issued last July.


The Minister appreciated efforts and activities made by the Saharawi students to aware and defend the national cause, especially inside the university cites where they study and in the international spheres they participate in.


“This Summer University aims to the formation of youth and students cadres, to strengthen their input concerning the struggle of the Saharawi people and provide them with information through meetings and lectures presented by a number of leaders of the Polisario Front and Saharawi government. It is also a place for the cross-fertilization of ideas between the different generations and draft an annual action programme for the students and pupils branches,” Secretary-General of the Saharawi Students Union (UESARIO), Ahmed Lehbib, to SPS.


The University, being held from 25 to 1st August 2012, is attended by students from Algeria, France, Spain and formerly Libya.


It will be marked by several lectures to be presented by members of the POLISARIO National Secretariat and Saharawi Government, according to agenda of the event. (SPS)
