Boumerdes (Algeria)July02,2012(SPS) - Prime Minister of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Abdelkader Taleb Omar called on France to adopt "positive" position regarding the Sahrawi cause, "commensurate with its place on the international scene and its responsibilities as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, guarantor of international legitimacy," he said Monday at the opening of the third Summer School of Polisario Front and SADR executives in Boumerdes (50-km east of Algiers).
The Sahrawi PM also invited the Spanish government to adopt an "active position" regarding the right of Saharawi people to self-determination and owing to the historic responsibility of Spain in the conflict.
While denouncing Morocco’s attempts to undermine peace efforts and the visit of the UN Secretary General’ special envoy to the region, the Saharawi official underlined that such attempts "are further complicating" the situation.(SPS)
