Several Saharawi films present at FiSahara 2012

Dakhla (refugee camps), May 4, 2012 (SPS) - Several international and Saharawi films are taking part at the ninth edition of the Sahara International Film Festival, known as FiSahara, held in the camps of Dakhla between May 2 to 6, 2012.
 

“Sons of Clouds: the Last Colony” a documentary film directed by Alvaro Longoria and co-produced by Javier Bardem, which explores the Western Sahara conflict: its historical roots, the reasons behind the political stalemate and the human rights and humanitarian crises it created.
 

“Letter to Sasha” directed Javier Reverte and Andoni Jaén about a young Sahrawi girl who writes a letter to President Obama's daughter, Sasha.
 

Other films such as: the Robbed Truth by Carlos González, the Sahrawi Teacher and the Wilaya by Pedro Rosado and “Gdeim Izik: the Origins of the Arab Spring.”
 

“Innocence”, “Broken Dreams” and “Unemployment” are a collection of short movies made by the Saharawi students of the Abidin Kaid Saleh Audiovisual school, which told the dreams, hopes and harsh realities faced by the young Saharawi refugees who have grown up in exile.
 

There are also a number of international films such as “the Lost Reels of Pancho Villa”, “Evan’s Dream”, “the Sleeping Voice” and others present at this year edition. (SPS)
