Saharawi government strongly condemns abduction of Algerian diplomats in Mali

Bir Lehlou (Liberated Territories), April 08, 2012 (SPS) -The Saharawi government has strongly condemned the abduction of Algerian diplomats in Mali, expressing solidarity with the Algerian people and government and demanded their immediate release, according to statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs released on Saturday.

 

“The government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic strongly condemns the cowardly abduction of seven Algerian diplomats by an unidentified elements in northern Mali town of Gao”, said MFA statement.

 

Saharawi government expressed solidarity with the Algerian people and government as well as families of the kidnapped diplomats, wishing for thier safe return to thier homeland.

 

the Saharawi authorities called on the government of Mali and  international community to exert all efforts for their immediate release, the statement added.

 

an unidentified group has abducted Algeria's consul in the northern Mali town of Gao along with six other consular workers, reported on Thursday the Algerian Press Service (APS).

 

The family members of the Algerian kidnapped diplomats have been repatriated from Gao to home Friday along with French citizen working for UNICEF, said statement of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (SPS)
