Aminatou Haidar gives a lecture on struggle to uphold human rights in Western Sahara at George Washington University

Washington DC, March 27 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi human rights activist, Aminatou Haidar, gave on Tuesday at Faculty of law at George Washington University a lecture under the theme “The Struggle to Uphold Human Rights in Western Sahara.”

 


The President of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) arrived in Washington DC at the invitation of GW Human Rights Law Society & the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights.

 


It is worth noting that Ms. Haidar received the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award in 2008 “for her courageous non-violent work, promoting the civil, political, social, cultural and economic rights of the people of Western Sahara” . (SPS)
