Smara (occupied territories), Feb 11, 2012 (SPS) - In the context of the solidarity campaign to support the Saharawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik, the occupied city of Smara witnessed Friday the organization of mass peaceful demonstrations, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
The protestors raised a large-sized slogan reads “the independent Saharawi state is the solution”, as a clear indication by Smara population to their attachment to the decisions of XIII Polisario Congress and their determination to translate its decisions on the ground.
Moroccan occupation forces surrounded the place and took the initiative in various organs to attack and disperse them by force, as well as chasing them in the various alleys and raiding several houses in order to abuse their inhabitants.
The demonstrations were attended by Saharawi human rights activists including Sukeina Jadahlu, Salek Batal, Ngia Boujars and Lamhaba Shikhi, who confirmed their determination to continue the struggle until achieving independence. (SPS)
