Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps), Jan 27, 2012 (SPS) - The National Preparatory Committee for the 12th edition of the international demonstration Sahara Marathon held Thursday a meeting chaired by Mr. Mohamed Moulud Mohamed Fadel, minister of sport and youth, and in the presence of members of the National Secretariat and government.
The committee examined the ways to succeed the Marathon’s 12th edition, through focusing on the Saharawi participation, which will have a draft Marathon ensuring a continuous study for the Saharawi youth in order to advance the Saharawi national sport.
It pointed out to the media role can be played by the runners in such demonstration, through raising awareness about the Saharawi cause within western societies.
Mr. Mohamed Moulud indicated, in a statement to the media, to the distinguished role can be played by this edition in terms of quality of the foreign participants.
The 12th edition of the Sahara Marathon will be celebrated in conjunction with the commemoration of the proclamation of Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic. (SPS)
