German government continues to support UN negotiations on the future of Western Sahara

Berlin, Jan 16, 2012 (SPS) - The Federal Government of Germany has confirmed that it continues to support the peaceful negotiating process initiated by the United Nations Organization on the future of Western Sahara, in a response to an interpellation submitted by the Members of the Bundestag a copy of it reached Sunday SPS.

“The Federal Government continues to support the UN negotiating process on the future of Western Sahara as a central instrument to bring about a resolution to the conflict which is acceptable to all parties,” said the German government, responding to a question on the initiatives that will help to put an end to the occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco in violation of international law in order that in future the EU can conclude effective agreements with a sovereign Western Sahara on the exploitation of its fishing grounds.
