US-Western Sahara Foundation reaffirms commitment to support Saharawi cause

Washington DC, Dec 19, 2011 (SPS) - The Chairman of the US-Western Sahara Foundation, Suzanne Scholte, reiterated on Monday the firm commitment of her Organization to continue working in solidarity with Saharawi people until regain full sovereignty and withdrawn of illegal occupation by Morocco, in a letter to delegates at the Polisario 13th Congress.

“It is a great honor to send this message of support and solidarity to the Saharawi people on behalf of the Board of advisers of US Western Sahara Foundation and many Americans citizens who support and care about the legitimate struggle of heroic people of the Western Sahara,” wrote Suzanne Scholte to president of Polisario Front 13th Congress, Mr. Hamada Salma.

She underlined that the 13th Congress of the POLISARIO Front represents “a historic event in the long struggle of the Western Sahara people,” emphasized that the Saharawi cause “relies on international law and universally accepted believe that all people have the right to be free to decide their own future.”

"Despite the millions of dollars the Moroccan kingdom has continued to pay lobbyists here in Washington DC to confuse and mislead about this issue, the Saharawi cause continues to gain more and more support and respect into the United States,” she added, expressing wishes to the success of the Polisrio Front’s Congress.

“Please convey to the participants in the 13th congress our best wishes and our firm commitment that we will continue to work in solidarity with you until the Saharawis regain full sovereignty of their land and this illegal occupation by Morocco has ended,” she concluded. (SPS)
