Mauritania President visits many historical sites in Constantine

Constantine Dec. 13 (SPS) - Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz visits Constantine (north-eastern Algeria) in order to check out the the main historical and cultural sites of the Ancient Cirta and discover its large projects.

 

President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz and Algeria’s Interior Minister Daho Ould Kablia visit the Mosque of Emir Abdelkader, also a large Islamic University, the Mueisum of the city, Palace of the Bey and the Bridge of Sidi M’sid.

 

Both officials will also check out the workshops and completion of the Giant Bridge and the tramway before heading to Madina Jadida (new city) where a presentation will take place, on the new urban pole and large workshops of the university and housing programs. 

 

President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania will also visit the University of Ali Manjli before concluding his tour in Constantine (east of Algeria) with a short visit to the historical tomb of the Amazigh King Massinissa.

 

Both Algerian and Mauritarian leaders aim to reinforce recent improvements in Algeria-Mauritania ties, and review regional and international issues of common interest, such as Sahel security.

 

Mauritania's President President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz arrived to Algiers on Saturday (December 10th) on a four-day official visit. (SPS)
