Brussels: Seminar about Moroccan Shame Wall in Western Sahara

Brussels, Nov 26, 2011 (SPS) - At the initiative of Belgian organizations, a number of European figures, including the European MP Mr. Willy Meyer and assistant professor at Brussels’ Free University Mr. Vincent Shabu, have activated Thursday a seminar on the Moroccan Shame Wall in Western Sahara.

The Seminar was attended by the Saharawi Minister Delegate in charge of Europe, Mr. Mohamed Sidati, and Polisario Representative to Belgium, Mr. Salek Abdrahman.

The Seminar was an opportunity to draw attention of the attendees to the various political and legal aspects of Western Sahara conflict.

The petitioners during the Seminar pointed out to the different images of the grave violations committed by Moroccan government to the principles of law and charters of the United Nations, starting from its illegal occupation of Western Sahara, through its construction to the Wall of Shame and ending with major abuses in the field of human rights and looting of natural resources of Western Sahara population.

Speaking in the Seminar, Mr. Willy Meyer spoke about the terrible mistreatment he faced when trying on the current November to visit occupied El Aaiun, presenting a concrete testimony showing the arrogance of Rabat regime. (SPS)
