Project to build a school in the Saharawi refugee camps

A Estrada (Galicia), Nov 20, 2011 (SPS) - The Institute of Secondary Education, Manuel García Barros, in A Estrada (Galicia) handed Thursday funds of 8,000 Euros to the Galician Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi people for the benefit of building a school in the Saharawi refugee camps, according to website “forodevigo.es”.

The funds were collected through the sale of the book in DVD includes the animated short film “Dairas”. Local representatives of the Galician Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi people have received the funds in an event held at the Institute.

The delegate of the Association John Soutelo, who received these funds, highly appreciated the involvement of Institute’s students and teachers to make possible this initiative of solidarity.

From his part, the Director of Secondary Education’s Institute Manuel García Barros, Mr. Gisele Maisse, thanked the association for opening this opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic cause.

The Institute Garcia Barros plans to collect school materials for the new artistic school workshop of artistic creation during Christmas. (SPS)
