Arrest of Saharawi political prisoner in occupied city of Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories) Nov 16, 2011 (SPS) -Moroccan authorities of occupation arrested on Monday the Sahrawi human rights activist, Atiq Barai, for his leading role in exposing the  bloody attacks  took place recently in the occupied city of Dakhla, according to Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities abroad.

 

 “Moroccan police agents in plain clothes and a vehicle belonging to “the judicial police” have arrested Atiq Barai around 16:00 (time of Dakhla) in the neighborhood of 'Kseiquisat' and transferred him to the police office”, the source indicated.

 

 The arrest of Atiq Barai, member of the Saharawi organization against torture in Dakhla, came after a campaign of arrests launched by  Moroccan authorities of occupation against the Sahrawi activists in the occupied city following barbaric attacks perpetrated by Moroccan settlers aided and abated by the security forces.

 

The number of Sahrawi detainees in occupied Dakhla rose to 22 prisoners.
