Sub-committees of Polisario 13th Congress Preparatory Committee begins their work in Spain

Madrid, Nov 14, 2011 (SPS) - Works of the sub-committees started Saturday in several Spanish regions in preparation for the Frente Polisario 13th Congress to be held in the liberated town of Tifariti on December 15-19 under the motto: “independent Saharawi state is the solution”, bearing the name of the Martyr and deceased leader, Mahfoud Ali Beiba.

In the Spanish city of Valdepeñas (Castile-La Mancha), the seminar was chaired by the Vice-President of the Saharawi National Council, Mr. Mbarek Lahdeib, assisted by Mr. Ahmed Abdelfatah, with the participation of members of the sub-committee and Polisario Regional Representative, Mr, Ballahi Mohamed Fadel.

The seminar marked by an extensive discussion on various aspects of the Saharawi cause at present and in the future. The presence presented their opinions, proposals and concerns on the status quo to be submitted for the Polisario 13th Congress.

In his speech, Mr. Mbarek Lahdeib pointed to the delicate circumstance marking the holding of the Polisario 13th Congress on the internal and external side, adding that this political stance is “a new station to intensify the efforts for devoting this phase slogan: independent Saharawi state is the solution.”

The Saharawi community in Castile-La Mancha elected Mr. Limam Omar Daha to represent them in the 13th Polisario Congress.

In the Island of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), the seminar was chaired by Zein Mohamed Ahmed and Mohamed Ali Alaarbi, president of the Saharawi community association in the Canaries.

In the province of Asturias, the seminar was chaired by Sidi Ougal, Mohamed Lamin Ahmed and Moulay Hasan Labsir, president of the Saharawi community in the Province. The seminar elected Hamdi Yousef to represent the community in this Province in the forthcoming Polisario Congress. (SPS)

The seminars witnessed deep debate on various concerns facing work of the Saharawi community in the Spanish circle and focused on the continued violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara. (SPS)
