Algiers, Oct 29, 2011 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, called Saturday on all peoples of the free world to support the peaceful resistance of the Saharawi people in face of the policy of harassment and terror perpetrated by the Moroccan occupation authorities.
Speaking at opening ceremony of the 2nd International conference on peoples’ right to resistance: case of the Saharawi people held in Algiers, the President Mohamed Abdelaziz underlined that the international community which hastened to protect civilians in other parts of the world, “should assume the same responsibility towards the gross human rights violations carried out by the Moroccan authorities since its military occupation to Western Sahara in Oct 31, 1975 as registered by international human rights organizations, including UN High Commission for Human Rights.”
The President of the Republic described the recent abduction of three European aid workers in the Sahrawi refugee camps as “a terrorist act targeting the Polisario Front and the Saharawi people who suffered the Moroccan state terrorism,” renewing his “strong condemnation to this cowardly attack.”
“The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), party in the AU Convention on counter-terrorism, will not spare any effort to liberate the hostages as soon as possible,” said Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, calling for the condemnation of this crime and expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.
