Algeria, Mali renew support for right of Saharawi people to self-determination and independence

Algiers, October 28, 2011 (SPS) – Algeria and Mali renewed their strong support for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, in an official statement sanctioning a working visit led the Malian President, Mr. Mamadou Toumani Toure, to Algeria, and ended Thursday.  

 

In the final statement issued at the end of the visit that lasted four days, the two countries reiterated "their support for the application of resolutions of the UN Security Council, which states the urgent need to reach a just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution providing for the self-determination for the people of Western Sahara."
