Tenerife (Canary Isles), Oct 6, 2011 (SPS) - At least 18 Saharawi activists and Spanish sympathizers staged Wednesday in a mass protest in the waters of the fishing dock at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife to protest the theft of Saharawi sand being unloaded from occupied El Aaiun and stored in facilities of the port of Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
The participants in this protest displayed a banner that exceeds 15 feet in the water in front of the boat that departed from the port of occupied El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara.
According to the organizers, the action aims to report and make visible the plunder that the Moroccan authorities with the connivance of the UN, the EU, the Spanish and Canarian make of the natural resources of Western Sahara.
They tended to report also the shameful irresponsibility illegal, unethical and immoral traffickers in stolen natural resources in Western Sahara by Morocco without benefit of the Saharan people and in violation of the international law. (SPS)
