Boumerdes (Algeria), July 19, 2011 (SPS)- The President of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi people (CNASPS), Mr. Mehrez  Lamari called Tuesday in Boumerdes on the UN and the Security Council to enable the Saharawi people to exercise its right to self-determination and decolonization of Western Sahara.

Speaking at the conclusion of Summer University of SADR and Polisario Cadres, Mr. Lamari said that "the closing ceremony of the Summer comes a day before the resumption of negotiations between the parties in the conflict  (Polisario Front and the Kingdom of Morocco) under the UN auspices".

"We see the stubbornness of the Kingdom of Morocco, its refusal to respect international law and the continuation of the policy of escape by continued occupation and expansion, violating human rights and savage repression in the  occupied Saharawi territories, " affirmed Lamari.

" We note also the weight and sense of responsibility of the Polisario Front, which remains committed to UN resolutions and charter," he added before saluting the slogan of the summer university under the theme "Popular Resistance: facing  occupation… road to independence".

Moreover,  Lamari confirmed that the position of Algeria remains "clear and firm", reiterating its support for the popular resistance in the occupied territories.

He announced that Algeria will host in mid-October an international conference on the peoples' right to resist for freedom and independence

The work of the Summer University of Saharawi Cadres began on July 7 with the participation of 400 cadres and the presence of parliamentarians, local politicians and human rights activists. (SPS)
