saharawi youth delegation participates in 24th national congress of ANC Youth League

Midrand (South Africa) June 19, 2011 (SPS) -  a saharawi youth delegation participated in The opening ceremony of the 24th national congress of ANC Youth League, held in Midrand on June 17-19,  according to the Saharawi Republic’s Embassy in South Africa.

Both the speech of the President of South African Republic, Mr. Jacob Zuma, and ANC Youth’s League Leader, Julius Malema, reaffirmed the support of South African people and youth to the Saharawi people’s right to independence, the source said.

In his intervention before the Congress, responseble of the foriegn affairs  in the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO), Mr. Mahfud Salama, drew  the attention of the South African youth to the role of the Saharawi youth in establishing foundations of the Saharawi state in exile.

From her part, Ms. Fatimatu Mustapha, member of the Association of Families of the Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA) spoke about human rights violations and repression practiced by the Moroccan authorities against the Saharawi people in the occupied territories  of Western Sahara.
