Organization of Solidarity day with Saharawi resistance in occupied territories

Algiers (Algeria) June18, 2011(SPS) solidarity day with the Saharawi resistance in the occupied territories of Western Sahara organized Saturday in Algiers under the theme “for the Saharawi People’s right to self-determination and independence”

This day is initiated by the Algerian Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People and attended by a big delegation from the occupied territories of Western Sahara which participated in the national conference for policies of youth held in wilaya of Dakhla from 9to 11 june, 2011.

The solidarity event was also attended by numerous of political personalities including president of European Coordination of Solidarity with the Saharawi people (EUCOCO), Pierre Galand, president of Arabian Committee for Human Rights, Ms.Kuri, Mayor of Tunisian city of Arianna, Karim Hilali,as well as personalities and representatives of Algerian society in addition to ambassadors of Venezuela, Cuba, Angola, Guinea Bissau an Mozambique.

In this solidarity meeting which held to commemorate the 41st anniversary of Zimla uprising all the speakers confirmed the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination and independence according to UN resolutions, considering the peaceful resistance of the Saharawis in the occupied territories a “ legitimate right” and way to defend the right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence.

The speakers denounced policy of terror and oppression committed by Moroccan government and violation of human rights by Moroccan occupation against the Saharawi defenseless in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

The event was an opportunities to the delegation from the occupied territories to present testimonies about kinds of arrest, kidnapping, force disappearance, unfair trials and torture they have subjected to by Moroccan Security forces. (SPS)
