Las Palmas, June 17, 2011 (SPS) - Several Canary trade unions have united to form the first coordination for the Support of the Saharawi people, according to Canary Radio and Television.
It is a platform which looks for active integration and solidarity with workers of Western Sahara.
"They demand that the Government of Spain and the European Union do not recognize the policies of occupation by Morocco in Western Sahara and do not sign agreements that affect its sovereignty or contribute to the exploitation of its natural resources," the source adds.
The presentation took place in Las Palmas of Great Canary and included, among others, trade unions such as UGT and Canary Intersyndical, RTVC added.
