The Moroccan authorities of occupation issued Monday a prison sentence of six months against Sahrawi political prisoner Ahmed Najem, according to Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
The source indicated that the trial of the Sahrawi detainee, with torture effects appearing on him, was presented by three foreign observers from the Spanish legal Council.
The detainee considered in his intervention that the charges against him were false, adding that he was subjected to torture by the police officer who forcedhim to sign the judicial record without seeing it or knowing the charges against him.
Sahrawi political prisoner Ahmed Najem, 27, was arrested May 25, by Moroccan authorities in the occupied city of Boujdour, for participating in a peaceful protest demanding the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. (SPS)
