Ceremony to publicize Sahrawi cause in Koepenik (Germany)

Berlin, June 3, 2011 (SPS)- a ceremony to raise the awareness about Saharawi people's struggle held Wednesday in German city of  Koepenik (Berlin), under the theme "recognize the Saharawi people and their heritage", according to the Polisario Front representation in Berlin.

 The ceremony was organized by a group of young Germans who have created a collection of solidarity with the Saharawi people under the name of " Project Groups in Western Sahara", after they visited  the Saharawi refugee camps.

A traditional tent was erected to host discussions and  photographic exhibition which allows the German public to be in touch with the latest developments of  Saharawi cause, particularly human rights violations committed by Moroccan occupation in  Western Sahara occupied territories.

Various recreational activities were also organized in the on the side line of the ceremony including bicycle races, basketball games as well as a workshops highlighting, with detailed explanations, various aspects of Saharawi way of life .

The party Revenues will be used to purchase materials for constructing  youth center in Saharawi refugee camp of Ausserd.

On September, Koepenik youth will organize a caravan around Europe aiming to create youth coordination in solidarity with Saharawi people's cause.
