Mexico City, May 15, 2011 (SPS) - The third edition of the International Exhibition of Friendly Cultures opened Saturday in the Mexican capital, with the participation of the SADR Embassy in Mexico and the Mexican Association of friendship with the Saharawi People (AMARAS), according to a statement of Saharawi Embassy in Mexico.
The exhibition was opened by Mexico City Mayor, Mr. Marcelo Ebrard, in the presence of more than 60 Embassies and international agencies accredited to Mexico.
The opening ceremony marked by a parade comprising 20 persons wearing Saharawi traditional clothes and holdings flags of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic.
Moreover, an exhibition for the Saharawi Republic has opened, including documents about culture and struggle of the Saharawi people, in addition to crafts, graphics as well as some traditional clothes and food.
The exhibition, which lasted for two weeks, will be marked by the organization of conferences about struggle of the Saharawi women, traditional ritual of tea and Saharawi poetry recital. (SPS)
