Algiers, June 28, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Embassy in Algiers held a farewell ceremony honoring the Chargé d'Affaires of the South African Embassy in Algeria, Mr. Sello Patrick Rankhumise, upon the completion of his term in Algeria.
The ceremony was attended by 17 ambassadors from Africa, Latin America, and Asia who are accredited to Algeria, as well as the President of the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People and members of the Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, which Mr. Rankhumise its Coordinator.
The Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, praised Mr. Rankhumise 's fruitful work and considerable efforts during his tenure in Algeria, both in terms of solidarity and defense of the Sahrawi cause, as well as representing his country South Africa - a country of struggle and anti-colonialism, and defending the interests of the African continent.
The ambassador noted that Mr. Patrick left a positive mark during his diplomatic work and established a solid foundation for the activities of the Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People.
At the end of the farewell ceremony, certificates and symbolic gifts were presented to Mr. Rankhumise in appreciation of his solidarity efforts and work.
The Sahrawi ambassador also hosted a dinner banquet in honor of the participating ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Forum.
