Tunis, June 27, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Republic is participating in the First Pan-African High-Level conference on Fighting Illicit Financial Flows in Africa, hosted by the capital, Tunis.
In the opening sessions of the conference organized by the African Union between June 26 and 28 under the theme "Africa’s Tax Agenda in Combating Illicit Financial Flows: From Words to Actions", the Representative of the Sahrawi Ministry of Economic and Financial Affairs, Mr. Salek Mohamed Mustafa, stressed in his speech that the participation of the Sahrawi state in this important event reflects its continued keenness to support joint African action aimed at addressing the development challenges facing the continent at various levels and enhancing Africa's Agenda for the year 2063.
The conference, which was launched under the supervision of the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, is attended by a number of senior government officials and representatives of African financial and banking structures and institutions, African and international organizations and associations, in addition to a wide network of international experts from various countries of the world.
Over the course of three days, the participants will review the African strategy in the field of combating illicit financial flows and monitoring their causes and the factors that led to them, in addition to discussing ways to support international cooperation to confront them. (SPS)
